    WHO CAN APPLY?

    The MIT-Russia Program is open to graduate, undergraduate and graduating students in all disciplines 

    WHAT ARE THE PRE-REQUISITES?

    • LANGUAGE:

    For undergraduate students, at least one year of college-level Russian language (Russian II) or equivalent is required. Exceptions: internships at JetBrains, Skoltech University and Skolkovo startups: Tsuru Robotics, HoverSurf, TAU Tracker, Vist Robotics, WATTS Battery, SPUTNIX, ANISOPRINT, V2LAB LLC, COMNAVRUS LLC, and SOMOV Engineering Lab. These hosts offer  free Russian language courses.

    For graduate students, there is no language requirement. Some basic Russian is recommended

    • GPA: 4.0 or higher
    • A formal course on Russia is recommended, e.g., culture, history, politics

    WHAT ORGANIZATIONS ARE HOSTING THESE INTERNSHIPS?

    Universities, research centers, private companies, startups, NGOs, etc.

    HOW CAN I FIND OUT ABOUT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN RUSSIA?

    WHAT APPLICATION MATERIALS ARE REQUIRED?

    • General MISTI application

    • Letter of motivation

    • Letter recommendation

    • CV/resume

    • Most recent transcript and/or list of current courses

    • Copy of passport photo page. If you don’t have a passport or yours is expired, apply/renew one

    WHAT IS THE TIMELINE?

    • Applications due: January 20, 2020 (rolling thereafter)

    • Placement process: Students will be matched with an internship host by Mar. 1

    • Preparation: Mandatory training sessions are held in March-April

    HOW LONG IS THE INTERNSHIP?

    Most MISTI internships last 8-12 weeks during the summer. However, internships are available year-round for up to 12 months at a time

    WHAT IS THE COST?

    All program expenses, including airfare, visa, accommodation and a stipend, are fully covered by the program
